RC Health Notice - MOSQUITO FREE
Rockland County Health Center
Due to the continued threat of West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephailitis, and other mosquito-borne illnesses, property owners are reminded that it is their responsibility to maintain all water-holding devices, coverings, containers, and grading/drainage on their property in a manner to prevent mosquito breeding. Rockland County Health Department (RCDOH) staff may conduct routine inspections of outdoor commercial and residential facilities this season to ensure that areas(s) of potential mosquito breeding do not exist on site. The Rockland County Sanitary Code ("Sanitary Code") requires that items/areas which can potentially hold non-essential water be maintained in a manner that prevents mosquito breeding.
Kindly consider visiting the RCDOH website for additional information and brochures on Mosquito Control and Prevention: www.rocklandgov.com/departments/environmental-health.
